Shelly McCaffrey

Shelly’s background in classical ballet combined with her passion for movement and fitness led her to commit herself to a career in health and wellness. It was during her formal dance training years that she was introduced to the Pilates method as a means of conditioning and injury prevention, and she instantly recognized how well it complemented her ballet training and the benefits of integrating this method into any fitness regime.  In 2000, Shelly was accepted into the STOTT PILATES® comprehensive training program in Toronto and graduated with full certification in Mat, Reformer, CCB, and ISP. She has since gone on to receive her STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer designation in Mat, Reformer, CCB, ISP and most recently Total Barre®, which has allowed her to present certification courses on behalf of Merrithew Health and Fitness since 2002. Shelly’s extensive dance experience has provided her with an exceptional understanding of alignment and movement patterns as well as a keen eye for detail, and over the years she has gained experience working with clients of all abilities ranging from post rehab to elite athletes.  A highly regarded instructor, Shelly teaches courses, examines students for certification, and presents workshops in Canada and Internationally. Pamela Stevenson

Pamela Stevenson

Pam Stevenson is passionate about Pilates and people! Pam first came to the mat as an injured runner, and she soon discovered the benefits of this mindful practice to both her physical and mental health. She has been a STOTT PILATES® certified instructor since 2012, and she has also completed coursework in ZEN•GA™ Mat and Equipment, and Total Barre™. Pam loves participating in continuing education opportunities, and she has completed several other STOTT PILATES® courses and workshops.  This is Pam’s second career, following 32 years as a teacher with The Calgary Board of Education. Her years in the classroom gave her the teaching and programming skills necessary to create safe, effective sessions for her clients. Pam’s years spent as a curriculum leader provided her with leadership and organizational skills, which are assets to her administrative work in the studio. She continues to be an avid runner, a rookie golfer, and a fair-weather gardener. Pam loves her job, and she is grateful for the amazing people that Pilates has brought into her life.

Regina Flueck

ADMINISTRATOR

Regina Flueck always loved movement. As a child she took ballet classes and as a teenager she joined the local athletics and gymnastics teams and later on even an indoor hockey club. As an adult however, she found it increasingly difficult to find enough time to be part of a team. Regina studied Hotel and Restaurant Management in Switzerland and found herself in a mostly desk bound work environment. In 2008 she started to struggle with back and neck pain so she joined a local Pilates studio. She realised quickly how beneficial this mindful movement practice is. In 2013 she decided to make her hobby her career, to be able to help others with muscle pain, and she has been a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor since 2014. She has also completed the Total Barre™ course and several ZEN·GA™ workshops. Regina enjoys adding to her teaching repertoire and learning new tecniques. Her current passion is increasing body awareness and releasing unnecessary muscle tension through somatics. She incorporates Thomas Hanna Somatics into her Pilates classes to help clients to not just strengthen but also release. She specifically focuses on helping clients with chronic pain.
